Confetti x NTU Sustainability Challenge
Graze Craze was created as part of the Confetti x NTU Sustainability Jam Challenge in 2021.
Participants were split into six teams, with other students who they likely haven’t worked with before (as was my case). Each team was given a theme that is topical to sustainability, my team (team six) having the theme ‘Food’.
Due to the randomness of our coming together, I quickly learned that some of my team members were proficient in Unity rather than my familiar Unreal Engine. Therefore we decided it better for it to be developed in Unity, while I assist in art & design for the project.
At the end of the 36 hours, we won, with a short game, concept, and sustainability presentation for BAFTA Albert.
Project Overview
The player, who is a farmer, needs to produce as much food for the local populace as possible within a time limit. However, there are a few challenges that you must overcome: Such as Costs, Water, Time, and CO2.
These challenges incentivise farmers to grow a diverse set of crops to find a balance. If they don’t it’s likely to cause a environmental disaster of some sort!
Players also have a sustainability score, which outside of clear conditions (food) acts as a score for players on each individual level. The aim should be to complete the game with as high a sustainability score as possible!
Gameplay Loop
Sustainability Presentation
Alongside our game, we needed to create a presentation for BAFTA Albert. Within would be details about our game and how it educates players on the sustainability topic.
My Responsibilities
Gameplay loop design.
System design for crops in excel, accurate to real life estimates.
Creation of pixel art assets using Aseprite.

My team-mates got some spotlight in interviews, but you can see my screen share showing some of the pixel art I completed during the Jam!
